RUNNING CLUB

Our Running Club is the official training facility for Ragnar Trail Relays!

Do you like to run? Do you want to start running? Join our running club! We meet at SlimGym every Saturday at 7 a.m. (except major holidays) and every Wednesday at 6 p.m.

When I just started my weight loss journey 5 years ago, I weighed in at 220 lbs. I hated running. Or so I thought…I knew I needed to do cardio, and I thought running was the best cardio – so I started to run. At first, all I could do is jog for 10-15 seconds then walk for at least a minute. I hated every cardio session.

The reason I hated running was because I was bad at it.

My knees hurt
and my back ached, I was out of breath and sweating like crazy, but I have had no practice in such a long time so it was to be expected.

I kept trying though. And kept trying. And kept trying. And guess what? I started to lose weight, and running became easier, and then it became enjoyable, and then it became my passion. I LOVE running now, but it didn’t happen in one day.

Fast forward to December 2017, I have completed numerous  half-marathons,6 Spartan races, 2 Tough Mudders, 3 Ragnar Trail Relays and lots of 5K,  10 K and 15 K races. You can see the whole list of my races HERE
